The GM 14 bolt with all the mods you've dreamed of. Put this magazine quality axle under your rig! What we have here is a tough as nails GM 14 bolt Full floating axle.
First, we started with a tough as nails GM 14 bolt. Next, we cured the biggest problem with the 14 bolt with a Ballistic Fabrication Full Shave kit. This gives an insane 2 inches of ground clearance over stock. The bottom bolts are countersunk for extra bolt protection. This is not your shade tree hack job. The bottom of the housing was professionally machined and the proper pre-heat, post-heat and stress relief done in conjunction with the welding procedure. The axle will have your choice of gears and the ring gear has been machined to work with the shave kit. Don't worry about the bottom being strong! It has a 1/2" thick armor plate and a 3/8" steel laser cut and CNC press formed differential cover.
Traction? Yep, this axle has all the options. We'll install your choice of locker or positraction.
Last but not least, we've ditched the heavy drum brakes in favor of a full disc brake system with integral E-brake. This combines ease of maintenance with the light weight and performance of rear discs. We've installed brand new (not reman) calipers which have the integrated E-brake hardware. These calipers include the spring a lever arm assembly. Simply connect e-brake cables!
