Here is the solution to the common failure of the CUCV glow plug circuit card. This is a custom designed replacement with upgrades over the stock card. Fits all CUCVs. Has functions for your choice of flashing wait to start light and steady wait light. Also has the option to switch to hold plugs longer for hard to start engines. LEDs are a great addition for diagnosing problems with your glow plug system. Instructions for the card are included. No modifications needed to install this in your CUCV!
We recommend this card over imitation replacements and even the original glow plug controller. Note the features listed above! The features on this card are not available on other cards. You'll love the LEDs for diagnostic purposes!
Replaces 12034592 .MODULATOR ASSEMBLY
Check the CUCV tech manuals for troubleshooting procedures however in our experience this is what we check/replace when having trouble with the glow plugs:
1. Glow plugs themselves (a continuity check will tell you if they are burned out, no continuity = burned out)
2. Controller Card Shown here. A button cannot re-create the functions handled by this card.
3. Solenoid/Relay on the firewall.

Worked perfectly
My old card was working intermittently. Got this new one and it works great. It comes with the dash light set to flash, so I changed that to steady on. That's covered in the instructions. You can also change the heating on a hot engine. The LEDs are very useful to determine when the card has power, when it is turning on the dash light, and when the glow plugs are heating. Best is that it is cheaper than the direct replacements from other sellers. Only con is that the LEDs can't be seen when the card is in the closed housing. You have to take the end cover off, or peek through the slot on top. 1984 M1008 CUCV.

If your card is burnt and not working buy this!!! I used a push button for about 2 years. My M1009 started much better with the card. My burnt card would let me know how long to push the button in but you can't do the after glow like the card can.

received the card just last week, installed in less than a couple minutes and it made a truck that wouldn't start come to life. now I can drive my truck. I drilled a hole in the card holder itself and mounted it beside the e-brake release. best money ive spent so far on this truck.

Fixed it!!
After replacing my glow plugs, and the two very expensive batteries. I was still unable to get the CUCV cranked. Stumbled across this controller card via Steel Soldiers forum and a google search. I was skeptical at first wandering if any directions would be included for diagnostics of the LEDs, and there is. Got the card installed took all of about 2 minutes - wait light "flashing" (I like that option) then goes off. It fired right up. Thanks for the GREAT product. Now if i could find someone who could rebuild\reuse this old stock card.
